About this calculator

BMR is the energy needed for breathing, circulation, and cell repair while at rest — typically 60–75% of total calories burned. This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, considered the most accurate for the general population by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Formula

Men: BMR = 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age + 5 Women: BMR = 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age − 161
